Mineral water

In the case of mineral waters containing iron, dissolved iron salts sometimes oxidize and precipitate as hydroxide to form an unnattractive sediment in the bottle. To prevent this, producers oxidize the mineral water with air and use sand filtration to extract the precipitated iron. Sigrist turbidimeters monitor the filtration step continuously and report any irregularities automatically.
