Conductivity, electrical

Capacity of a substance of transporting energy or another substance in space. In water treatment, for example, conductivity is measured at several points.

Within the European Union the limits in drinking water are set down at 2790 μS/cm at 25 °C or 2500 μS/cm at 20 °C. Good quality drinking water has a conductivity of 200 – 800 μS/cm.
